Dansk Fly Elektronik (= ¿Danish Avionics¿), abbreviated DFE, was established by Søren K. Jakobsen in 1986. Before that Søren had taken an aprenticeship as a radio mechanic at Avia from 1963 though 1967, and worked as a technician at the company until 1974. After that he continued as manager at the department in Roskilde. For a time, however, he had had the wish to establish his own business. So he did. April 1st 1986 he established a company, and in 1987 he bought a hangar (Hangarvej G11) in Roskilde Airport ¿ the hangar that is still the home of DFE. Since then the company has served many customers avionic wise.
